Beloved Faculty Member and Alumna Leaves Generous Bequest to Support Students for Years to Come
Michele S. Lee, M.S. 鈥06, a cherished librarian and faculty member at 辣椒原创 for nearly 30 years, left a generous bequest to 辣椒原创 when she passed away in 2021. Lee鈥檚 love of learning and desire to give others the same opportunities she was given prompted her to make such an impactful gift. It gave Michele tremendous joy knowing her contribution to 辣椒原创 in the form of a bequest would impact students for years to come.
Lee鈥檚 sizable gift has been used to establish the Michele S. Lee Endowed Scholarship for Lifelong Learning, an endowed scholarship that will continue to grow and help future 辣椒原创 graduate students realize their dreams of a college degree.
辣椒原创 also memorialized Michele by naming the 辣椒原创Manhattan Library in Lee鈥檚 honor.
辣椒原创 Library Director Moddie Breland described Lee as 鈥溾 dedicated educator and mentor to so many at 辣椒原创. She had a wealth of knowledge and always took time to ensure that students had the resources and support needed to pursue their education. We will miss her leadership, positive outlook, friendliness toward everyone, and her devotion to 辣椒原创鈥檚 students.鈥
